Couple of Jeep Newbies
« on: August 01, 2010, 01:04:33 PM »
Hello,

Just thought I would introduce myself, I'm Chris, me and my wife just bought our first Jeep this week and are looking forward to having some fun with it. Nothing fancy yet, just an '08 Wrangler X, but it is just a starter for us. Looking forward to getting it out on the trial (once we got some tow points installed) and meeting some other enthusiasts. I have some off road experience with the Army, she doesn't have any though, hoping to get on the next 101 course because there is always more to learn.

Welcome to the boards :)

It's a pretty good bunch here - and a LOT of knowledge and experience  ;)

Your Army experience will help a bit, but (as I found out) you can't call for recovery when something breaks :(  and you don't avoid the obstacles in a jeep...you seek them out :)  Oh, and no silly bugger is shooting at you :o so speed isn't king.

Come on out to Timmy's tonight http://forum.calgaryjeep.com/index.php?topic=19193.0

Heading out camping for the evening as soon as the wife gets off work so will have to catch the next one. I never was a fan of recovery, we always just pulled it out ourselves (just don't tell them that lol)
