I scooped up a sweet deal
« on: September 12, 2010, 11:49:21 PM »
I picked up another jeep today.
2001 WJ limited, loaded
98K
$7500

Anyone out there that has one; are there any common issues with them besides the mixer door and to nake sure the oil is changed extra regularly?

Thanks Dale

what engine dale?

brakes on these were all garbage.... warped rotors, etc. bad from the factory and there was a recall (done by 36k miles though, so you can't get it done.... )
transmissions (V8) all had electrical problems; usually 'speed sensors'  actually its very easy to fix; but they are dealer-only parts.
change the tcase fluid if its AWD. again, dealer only fluids for the 247.

i also needed exhaust and some other little knickknacks.

overall good vehicles!

You mentioned the oil changes~ do these motors have that same sludge up problem that the 2.7 chrysler engine has? I was allways wondering if the 4.7 was a decent engine, i hear they have manifold issues but never heard much else about them, good or bad.
