Front spring
« on: September 17, 2010, 10:46:21 PM »
I just put a new lift (4" LCA) on the TJ and noticed the front passenger spring is a bit funky.

Supposedly both springs are identical although I haven't swapped them around yet.

The problem I have noticed is that the passenger side spring seems to side too far to the rear (has a slight bow in the middle) and as a result the top bump stop rubs a little as the spring compresses. The spring is sitting in the little notch on the bottom perch so it's orientated correctly. About the only thing I can figure is that the little spring rentention tab + screw wasn't on the jeep when I got it, and therefore is not installed at the moment, or the spring has a slight warp to it.

Ideas?

did you put in a adjustable track bar or a track bar bracket? If not you should look into it.

Yup adjustable track bar and a bracket on the driver side frame. Went for an alignment and they said everything was good, caster was off just a hair but it was close enough it wasn't worth adjusting.
