« on: October 07, 2010, 11:10:39 PM »
So i have a few days off and thought id tackle this rear motor seal myself -1972 258-4.2ltr out of a gremlin is whats in my 75 cj5 -This is were im at ive pulled and dropped my tranny took off clutch assembelly dropped my oil pan took off my rear crankshaft bearing/housing to find the seal is a neoprene seal i thought it would be maybe a neoprene and rope combo but theres no rope -SHOULD THERE BE?????- any ways that gets the bottom now the trick and question is the top part of this seal.K i have removed the rest of the bearing caps which gave me a bit of room to maybe sneak that seal out and slip a new one in *maybe* if this does not work do i have to remove all me piston connecting rods literally drop my whole crankshaft just for this or does anyone have another trick up there sleeve they could share.Any suggestions are appreciated and thanks in advance.
