I'm running an 05 ruby with a 4" suspension lift kit.  I ran it last year and had no problems with it but I did add an additional 1" body lift this winter so that I could fit in th nth degree tummy tuck.
I HATE mud and snow!!!!!!!

Recommend the 4.5 kit, with the 3.5 spings. Rubicon springs measure tall, and getting over 4 inches is pushing it on rubicon driveline. You will also need a CV driveshaft, and RE's CV rear track bar bracket if their's is the stuff you are refferring to.

DSI (Drive systems inc) is a good place to have your driveshaft done.

I don't know about this. They are stiff at the start, but after about 6 months, it's not still the case. At least mine seemed to loose enough height that I want to trade in my 3.5" for some 4.5" springs 8).

But this might cause some other driveline and steering issues  :?: .

You also just use their T-Case drop kit untill you decide to put in a body lift, motor mount lift and tummy tuck ;).

You've seen a rubicon t-case skid right?

Besides the fact I'd never recommend t-case drop to anyone, its even worse when one is done on a rubi.

On a TJ or a Rubi?

Once you SYE, a TJ' driveline is almost 5 inches longer then a Rubicons. Because of that, rubicons are limited to about 5.5 inches of total lift and tuck before they run into serious driveline issues.

A super short 231 on other hand can go about 8 inches.

If you go from settled 3.5's to new 4.5's there's definately a chance you will have some driveline issues to deal with. Steering, not so much. Its not until you go to a 5.5 do see things like track bar drop brackets, your should still be ok.

I talked to the boys @ modern, i'm probably going to go with the RE superflex 4.5, id like to leave the t-case skid where it is since is low already, the only other thing i think im going to have to worry about is drive shaft length since i have a fixed yoke at the t-case already. I know swamper is makin a 34x12.50x16 trxus mt, might run into rubin issues though, well have to see.

hey guys thanks for the help, a couple more questions for ya, Is any body running a 4.5 inch lift on 35's with the stock moad wheels, is there enough backspacing/offset to run these wheels. id like to stay away from the skid plate drop as well, double cardan drive shaft, do i need one?

For any tire over 10.5" wide, and 33" your will rub with Moabs. You either need to change the rims, or run wheel spacers. Spidertrax 1.25" spacers all the way around are 500 plus dollars.

You can fit a 33 10.50 on the moabs with minimal rubbing and a  loss in turning radius.

With anything bigger then a OME 2.5" spring you will need a CV if you arent dropping the t-case. Both RE 3.5's or 4.5's fall in that category.

After you get your lift in drive over to DSI on the front driveshaft and have them do a CV for you. They have better prices then american companies, do just as good of work, and are local. So easier to deal with.

A CV from them will run you around 500.

Good luck
