Questions are okay!
The trail leader for any given run has the final say as to who can and can't come. The trail leader for the run on the 6th is SpecialK. I don't want to put words in his mouth here, but he and I have talked a little bit about this run. Based on what he's posted in the member's section:
-This run will not be at McLean Creek
-This will not be a good run for people that don't have MT (or VERY good AT) type tires
-The minimum requirements for this run are currently 33 inch tires and a working winch
-A stock JK Sahara would have a LOT of difficulty with the trail that SpecialK is considering. JK's are capable rigs for sure - but I would hazard a guess that you would not enjoy the process of abusing your new JK hard enough to get it through what he's got in mind. Based on the fact that you've got a stock Sahara, I honestly doubt that you would make it through unless it was on the end of someone else's winch calbe.
Even taking all the bypasses and being pulled through the stuff that doesn't have bypasses, you'd probably finish the run with some pretty good body damage. I'm not talking about "Rocky Mountain Pinstriping" - this would be some rather more serious body damage.
The other things that I would add as general statements about "member's" runs:
-They are generally more challenging than most of the "open" runs.
-While non-members have occasionally come on these runs, it is generally a "by invitation only" situation. If a member invites a non-member on one of these more challenging runs, they are generally responsible for guiding/escorting/pulling
the non-member through the run.
-Runs like this one also generally call for a bit more "not on the list" equipment. Generally, you'll want to bring enough "personal" equipment that you could stay overnight in a remote area, an axe, a saw of some sort, a shovel, extra food, extra water, extra clothing, and a pretty comprehensive selection of tools, spares for parts that are likely to break, and some spare fluids.
In conclusion, SpecialK is the person that would have to decide if you can go on that run...but I think that you might want to gain some extra experience at wheeling and get your Jeep a little better prepared before tackling runs like that one.
