I heard kal tire did, but only at chinook and their sipper is down.

So does anyone else sipe tires?

The Krawlers not cutting it in this snow Justin?

WARD TIRE
3681 48th Ave SE
(403) 650-7809

Should be about $25 a tire for 35's  IIRC, and they need to be at least 85% or more tread left for them to do it. Ask to have only the center lugs siped .

I remember hearing that last night as well Aaron.

Maybe Justin has the " Red Label" comp stickies that adhere to snow/ice as well as they do on rocks?

First off, the crawlers crawl through the snow like it was fresh concrete.... They just don't like ice, plus I'm a big wuss in the winter.

Second, will call them.

Third, why only the center lugs?

Forth, how are those claws on the ice?? Haha

I'm a big wuss

Siping the outer lugs will cause cupping and chunks of rubber to come off( been there done that) when done to tires with big outer lugs.

You should find pics of Albert Vandervelde's custom siped/grooved Krawlers. I personally would get them siped by hand as your tires have a unique pattern.

Gimme a shout sometime if you need some advice on this topic, as I've siped/grooved/cut 48 tires this year alone.

Hahaha, they really arent that bad at all. I would just like the BEST possible traction I can get.

Then get some Goodyear Duratracs and have them studded.

If you don't want to spend over ten bucks and you have time on your hands; I suggest you get a good utility knife and sipe your own tires. Pull the tire off and get a small chair. Place the utility knife upside down and jam your elbow to your body. Push the blade AWAY from you and follow the contour of the lug on your Krawlers. Try not to get the sipes too close to the edge of the lug or it will chunk in the future.

Cost of a good utility knife with locking feature and blades should be a whopping $7 at CanuckTire.

I ordered one from eBay this week, it was $60 plus shipping. It's the Ideal grooving knife, but if you mount the blades upside-down it becomes a twin-blade siping knife.

BUT...siping the outer lugs is fine for tires that do not have super-big outer lugs. I had Kal Tire Chinook sipe my BFG MT's full width and they didn't chunk at all in 50,000 km.

I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(
