JK Switch locations. Ideas?
« on: January 28, 2011, 04:26:21 PM »
I'm currently out in the snowfall installing my new ARB Compressor I got this morning into the JK, and I'm curious if anyone with a JK has any experience on a good place to install the compressor rocker switch? I like doing a clean job with my installs, however the daystar switch panel that project JK recommends interferes with the 6spds shifting so... Need to find a spot other than that mesh map-pocket area.

Ideas?

Cheers!

Just found this last night. It would require a new head unit but I think it is really clean looking.

Depending on the year of your unit, the ARB switch may fit next to the speaker right above the driver's left knee. That's where I have mine.
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

I called John from S-Pod in California... I bought a switch bezel from him.  Made from aluminum, fit like factory and are located up on the header between the visors.  John is a very stand up guy to deal with.  I had an 07 and had a switch bezel for it... before I traded it in for my 2010 I send the old back to him, he sent me the new one, due to some changes Jeep made.... no cost, just paid the shipping.

I mounted mine under the hood against the side of the motor well just forward of the battery.  Maybe notnideal in the event of heavy water but I did seal it up prety goodmwith silicone and wrappednthe wire contacts.  It is protected from underneathnfrom water by the battery mount plate and another bracket, and if water is that high inhale other issuesnto worry about.

I figured why put it through to the dash when I had to be under the hood to run the compressor anyway.

I do like those S Pods though
