Tj Battery plate/heater problem

I was just wondering if there is anything I need to do, to start using my second battery plate,  It didnt look like there was alot of space there to fit a battery in, what would I have to do to wire it in also,


and the heater in the Jeep only works on full, the other levels dont work. not sure if its a relay? I checked the fuse box, and couldnt find one for heater core, any other idea's? My buddy's 01 mustang has the same problem, but who buys v6 mustangs anyway?

Wayne, your heater problem is the blower fan resistor. It is pooched.

You go buy a Hanes, or a Chilton TJ manual, and a blower fan resistor.... then you start a-reading. Easiest part on a Jeep to replace.

2ND battery plate? I think your talking about the plate on the drivers side? Pretty sure that is where the air compressor is if you had a rubicon its not actually a battery tray. I don't have a Rubi so maybe someone on here with one can clarify if I am correct on that for ya. There is a pretty good article in 4wheel drive mag this month about dual batteries. It's a TJ addition. maybe check that out should help you get started.

also realize that when replacing the heater fan resistor it is a good idea to replace the blower motor as well. the resistance through the blower motor and the resistor are directly linked, when my resistor went i replaced it and in another month it went again. i talked to a few people and thay advised me to change the blower out as well and have not had a problem since.

Two fit nice on the passenger side. Just remove the stock battery tray and bolt on steel plate.
