if i came up on this situation i think i might just stand back and watch. laugh inside. personally, sometimes i like to learn things the hard way... others must learn things the hard way all the time ;D

I would have found a shovel to find out what it was so stuck on I think. its only a bit of mud that you have to get into. funny stuff, glad that has not happened to me :)

I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

Interesting how they continued to try and yank that jeep out even when it was obvious the front tire was wedged in.

A winch definitely would have helped, or even a hi-lift, or better yet an ARB X-jack to lift and tug the jeep out of that whole.
