A couple people have said to me that they would like to wheel the Waiparous winter trails one last time before closing (they close on the 15th).
I'd love to head down for another run, of course this won't be an official CJA run but if there are a few people willing, post here and let us know.
If enough people can make it, same drill as usual - 9:00 at Smitty's, head out at 9:30. If I'm leading, it'll be a stock rig friendly run, so don't be worried about bringing a stock rig. And we won't get lost, I have a GPS that is readable LOL
Forecast for Saturday right now is +3C so bring your scuba gear...
EDIT:
Usual requirements;
- 31" tires in good conditions and a full sized spare
- Vehicle mechanically sound
- Tow points front and rear
- Recovery strap
- Be prepared to air down to 15psi or so
- Spare fluids for your rig
- Basic hand tools
- All of the lights on your rig must work
- Plenty of food and water for everyone in the vehicle
- Clothing appropriate to the wearther (boots, gloves, hats), and a change of clothes and shoes for everyone in the vehicle
- CB or FS radio is a plus
- Valid drivers license
- Valid registration and insurance for your vehicle
Since it's not an official CJA event you won't have to sign a waiver, but be prepared for scratches, damage, and any other possible outcomes that Offroad driving can entail. :-)
This run will be open to anyone who wants to join, Jeep or otherwise. It should be a fun day for everyone.
EDIT 2:
Since this is a fun run, let's make it good for the community too. Please bring a non-perishable food donation for the Food Bank, or a cash donation (I'd suggest $5) to go with the food donations. Since I'm from Red Deer, the donations will go to the Red Deer Food Bank. This won't be required to wheel that day on this run, but it sure would be nice if you are able to help the people who need it. Thanks everyone!
EDIT 3:
I will bring along my spare handheld CB with magnetic antenna, in case someone doesn't have any radio at all. I've got a pair of FRS radios somewhere here, I'll dig them out and bring them along too. We will use CB channel 11 and if needed FRS channel 11.
