Jeep Liberty Deisel

Anobody have an opinion on these deisel liberty's.Fuel mileage,breakdowns,all around comfort here on alberta roads.
Reason im asking is im thinking of that or a volkswagon deisel station wagon for the wife and kids.
This gas jobbies of suvs (we have a durango)is just hurting in the poket book.

I had an 08 diesel and it only got 24-25 mpg highway on a good day. Was a great rip around city vehicle  though but felt it should have got around 30.  My dmax diesel crew cab gets same fuel economy on highway.  Was also expensive to service at the dealer, 2x as much as a gas unit

The guy I bought my rust, I mean yj from, bought a 2.8 liberty diesel to commute from drum to calgary daily and absolutely loves it.  Then again he told me the yj on had a few minor surface rust spots....
