Where to buy Cold Air intake Systems?
« on: March 18, 2011, 04:48:22 PM »
Just wondering who you have bought cold air intake systems from and how happy are you with them?
I am looking for one for my 2011 JK and my 2008 F150 Lariat 5.4L
Any info would be great!

Thanks!

Randy

Please don't put a CAI on the Jeep, it will do next to nothing.

If anything get a Superchip programmer for it, that's probably the most useful power adder you can really use on a JK.

I would also lean away from a CAI on a JK. . .it can increase the risk of hydrolocking your engine. On the bright side, if you hydrolock, it could give you the excuse you need to upgrade to a hemi  ;D

They are loud on the JK. I was suprised how much louder the engine was under throttle on the hiway. Pinchy has on on his 2011.  I don't think he noticed any fuel savings. I agree with Unknown303. Get a programmer before an intake.

If you want more horsepower in a JK, buy a blower or a hemi.

If you want to SAY you've got more horsepower in a JK, buy a programmer, a CAI, and a freeflowing exhaust.  ;)
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

Or you could always trade your JK in for a 2012 with the new engine, better mileage too

Way to NOT answer the first question.
If you want to buy a left handed screw driver OR a cold air intake for your Jeep you should try:
Mopac Auto Supply Ltd
130 16 Ave NW
Calgary, AB T2M 0H2
(403) 277-0101

Cost, liability, and filter maintenance of a CIA far outweighs any performance increase whether it be real or perceived.
Save your pennies now, you'll need afford filling up your rigs this summer....

Yeah replacing my engine when I hydro'd it was in the range of 8600 dollars.....  :'(
Now I have a snorkel to keep water at bay.
