Using bacon grease helps the pick axe slide through the hood....  seriously... I know cooling vents seemed to help my old XJ... these are "cool"...    8)

Get out your favorite firearm and add some speed holes while you are at it.

Seems like the general consensus is this things are useless...I still think they look damn cool though and way cheaper than an AEV hood.

Remember ... That's part of the fun of owning a Jeep...  You can do what you want to do to it.  Any advice is good. 8)

This sounds like fun! ;D

Many jeepers use the $5 solution which is a hood vent from a mid 80's LeBaron.

Thats still a boatload of mone

That is still a LOT of money for an engine that does not need any cooling. Maybe rip out the insulation from under the hood?
If you like it and you have the money for it, than all else is moot. Just be prepared to answer everyone that asks, "What bigblock are you running?"

Took my YJ through death valley at 44 degrees and never overheated, stock 4 cyl and rad at the time - stock cooling works pretty good.

That said, it would nicely cover my hoods "stupid dent" (from flipping it up on the windshield frame and not using the prop)
