Gonna be new Jeep owner

Hello everyone

My name is Stella and I heard about this Calgary Jeep forum from another person on a different forum (all of North America). It is always good to find local forums because you can interact with people that live in the same city.

I am not a Jeep owner yet however I am currently eyeing up the new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I am really hoping I can get it by October. I could go to a dealership now and buy it however I want to wait for a few more months when there are more incentives and pay off other debt before purchasing a new vehicle. I have never owned a Jeep before so I don't really know much about them and their capabilities. I know the new Grand Cherokee isn't really built for offroading but that is ok as I'm not a serious offroader anyway. I want a vehicle that can have the 4x4 capability so that I am not restricted to some "fun" if there happens to be a chance while I am out driving around. lol I am in the market for a new SUV and I find the Jeep GC will suit my lifestyle a lot better in the long run as I do a lot of outdoor activities out in the mountains such as camping and snowboarding plus I want a vehicle that can haul a trailer with 2 streetbikes should I ever decide to go on a really long motorcycle trip.

It would also be helpful to get some advice from fellow Jeep owners when it comes to maintenance and perhaps different trails to offroad on Maybe nothing too crazy but it would be nice to use the 4x4 capability and have some fun. I wish I had the Jeep this past weekend when 20 cms of snow fell

thank you very much. I am looking forward to meeting some of you guys and talking about Jeeps. I am part of the Calgary Groundpilots (motorcycle forum) and we talk about bikes all the time so it would be nice for a change and talk about other vehicles. lol

Nice, good to see you again Stella!  You may or may not remember me, I go by DJKaotica on CGP (although my visits there are less than frequent these days).

You may want to check out barmanjay's thread: "let the flood gates loose" - tower.  He's a salesman there and may be able to hook you up with a good deal on the new Grand Cherokees!

Yeah well by proxy anyways. I'm dating "Tangent" and I probably saw you on one of the rides, I have a blue GSX-R750. I also did a bit of mini road racing.
