4x4 Indicator Switch
« on: September 12, 2011, 02:49:53 PM »
So my 4x4 light has stopped working and I have narrowed it down to a faulty 4x4 indicator switch, OEM part number J8134473.I would like to replace it, however the price at the dealership is $50, which seems a bit steep. Anyone know a cheaper alternative, or better yet have one kicking around? Found one I'm the states for $10, but by the time its here, gonna be the same as the crooks at Chrysler.

Thanks

Go to Pick and Pull and get wrenchin' if you don't want to pay the price.

or check Affordable Wrecker ( http://www.aaaffordable.com/ )  in the SE...They might be able to get it out of a Jeep for you but you'll have to pay for that also. Jenssen told me to go there once and they were real good with me.

The 4x4 indicator switch is located on the transfer case not the transmission

No offense but $50 doesn't seem that bad to me. Unless you live close to PYP and like scrounging around in a wrecking yard for a part that may or may not work or may not fit, seems like a waste of your time.

Don't get me wrong I've spent tons of time scrounging for gems at PYP when I lived almost next to them but for things like that, I don't bother anymore.

I doubt youll pay 40 bucks on 10 from the states for shipping and duty 35% tops for duty and tax if they hate you... maybe another for brokerage if they use usps and about 10 for shipping if they really dont like you. Whats that? Around 30 bucks total? git er dun.

Haha, my bad, meant np231. Sill got transmissions on the brain from doing my clutch...

I don't mind making the drive to PNP specially since I don't go that often.

As far as shipping from the states, think the one site quoted 20 for shipping, so still less than local. Figured I'd try PNP first.
