2003 n up HardTops
« on: October 19, 2011, 08:32:32 PM »
Man I put my 2002 Hardtop on a few weeks ago and it wasn't that bad.  Really never had a problem taking it off and throwing it on myself.  But just got done throwing on the girlfriends 2003 hardtop and just about sh!t myself lifting that on.  And the stupid window decided to lift on its own throwing me off balance. lol. Got it on though.

They got to be another 50lbs or more heavier.

I'm going to feel that one tomorrow.

I've have which I can only assume is an 02" hard top as my jeep is an O2" and she ain't light! Takes my brother and I to put on/take off and we are both very athletic.  Are you the first owner of your Jeep?  Maybe the hard top is some fancy after market one that weighs less!?!?

come on little girls .. i used to install my brothers wifes LJ hard top all by myself . and remove it as well .. climb into the rear of the jeep stand up lift top off then jump out of the jeep while holding top above your head .

but i do have to say when the window opens and throws you off balance that does suck . so after the first that happened i just intall and remove it with the window up now

Nope a factory 02 Hardtop.

And I have always taken the tops off and on myself.  Figured it out when I was 16 with my 93 YJ.  It is almost easier by yourself because your not fighting with the other person.

I'd imagine the LJ top would be a biotch.

Next time I will duct tape that window shut cause it always seems to happen.

I've actually done removal and install of my JK 4 door hard top solo. It's not that heavy....just really, really freakin' awkward.
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(
