Hi New here
« on: November 09, 2011, 09:51:31 AM »
Not sure if there is a intro section couldn't seem to find it though I am told that's a guy problem so that's my excuse. I just bought a 2000 TJ Sahara with under 120k on it. Well I made a sbc YJ back in the day and now the urge has resurfaced though this time I want to put and all alum sbc prob an ls-1 in this TJ has anyone done this here? I would love pointers and connections for parts if so. If not a fabbing I will go lol.  :oThanks in advance.

Welcome to the site! Sounds like one heck of a build! Be sure to keep us updated in the build up section if you do go ahead with it :D
I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

Will do any idea how much hp and torque these jeep TJ t cases will take or should I go full gm drive?

its one of those things, domino effect... you start with an LS1 and everything behind it gets very un-happy. try the full drivetrain, engine tranny and t/case. but the axles will suffer as well. so be prepared to swap axles.
maybe go wheeling with it in stock form and see how that 4.0L really pulls. in 4-low the 6 has the bottom end torque to pull a house down  ;)

Ok cool just gathering odd and ends so far and have to get all the pieces I will gladly borrow any info on the swap thanks. Maybe if he needs some hands I could pass a wrench or beers and absorb some tips. Can't find him on the member list hmmm?
