What size tubing have you used when replacing the rockers on your MJ/XJ?   2x4 or 2x6?

And do you cut out up to the pinch weld?

Cut until there isn't anymore rust. That will be enough to get a 2x6 in mine. You may be able to get away with just a 2x4, though.
And, yes.
if we were smart with our money we wouldn't own Jeeps.

I used .250 wall 2x6.

I only cut the outside of the stock rocker out which gives enough room to jam in a piece of 2x6 HSS  with a little persuasion.  The stock sheetmetal will hold the slider in place really well, then just weld 'er up and call 'er done.

Ask Dana to send you a picture of how he has just done his... His original set was flush and it didnt seem to look right... On the 2 door now he has left a lip that is welded to the 2x4 box and it looks pretty damn good.
I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

what ever you can get ahold of that works, i know tootc could not find the same size as i used but his turned out great.
i think .25 wall is way over kill. mine is .125 and i have kicked the crap out of it with no dents or bends.
Its a shity job but when its done its super tuff.

Agreed.  I only used 1/4" cause I was/am planning on using the sliders as air tanks once I finish my ghetto homebrew OBA and wanted some "erosion allowance"

I'm sure 0.125" would work well
