Duratrac shakedown

Took the Duratracs for a rip in wiaporous today. When I ordered them I thought Id regret throwing these girlie tires on my TJ. Always been a Toyo mang. After today... I fuggin love my girlie tires. Sidewalls are definately as flimsy as a standard tire... only downside... might need to use the brain to wheel the tough crap and not just hammer the skinny peddle. Thats my review... end.

Got me a set at the beginning if the summer, wheeled top of the world in less than ideal conditions with no issues. Great on road manners too, barely any noise and handle well on deerfoot. No need to air up to the 35 psi stated though, especially when running on a TJ, learned that the first snow fall!

i used to run my 35's at 18 psi on the road and down to 6-8 psi in teh bush .. our jeeps are to light to run over size tires at such high psi

Who stated 35? dont listen to em anymore. Tires MAX is 35.

I have been strongly considering these tires and have been doing lots of research...

You say the only downside may be the sidewall. As I understand they come in C(6 ply), D(8 ply) and E (10 ply) ratings. Thus, would not a higher rating give you more sidewall plys and thus stronger/stiffer sidewalls? What rating did you get?

higher ply rating doesnt always give you more sdiewall plys. C, D, E are tread ply rating and over all construction of the tire. the higher the letter the more load capacity. from all the different durotracs ive seen they only come in a 2 ply sidewall. i may be picky but i priced some out and found the same size mtr/kevalr was a 100$ more for 4 tires. so i might go that route for the piece of mind of 3 ply sidewalls... and to be different. either way, the duratracs are a great tire.

33x12.5x15, only available in C rating. And they are 2 ply sidewalls. Ive had the MTRs, great tire but I couldnt justify the cost becuase of wear. My Jeep is a DD and sees 99% pavement. I ate the rears in no time towing a trailer, I rotated em every 5km and sold em at about 50% with around 20k on em. Hoping these do better. Support tread lightly if you grab the Duratracs and get a 25  buck membership, goodyear will give ya 100 rebate back.

Had Duratracs on the Rango and loved em.  Did em again on the ZJ and shur I'm gunna love em again!!!!

i got my tires from Fountain tire and saw Commacnhe Killer there.    big difference over the mud terrains coming home, and unbelievable quiet!     they also tell me that its a "c" load rating and a 6  ply side wall.   ive been too lazy to verify....

6 ply tread maybe. definately not sidewall, wouldnt even need air if they were.

not sure about these tire but Toyo MT are 10 ply tread and 5 ply sidwall.  doubt there are many passenger tires with as tough or tougher sidewalls.
