Welcome to 2012!
« on: January 24, 2012, 05:07:46 PM »
I want to welcome all users of the CJA website to 2012!  The CJA website is the clubs number one way we communicate with our members.  And as an added bonus, by registering, you are able to have access to General Forums/Tech Talk, Open Runs, and our For Sale area.

This year, the CJA is focusing it's efforts on the current membership by organizing a major event each quarter and creating more wheeling and social events throughout the year.  We had over 60 members in 2011 and we want those members to be more involved in the core aspects that the club was founded on... wheeling, camping, and camaraderie.

In past years, we have attempted to have a CJA sanction open run each month.  This year, we are scaling that back to only one 1 run each quarter. The CJA sanction runs are an important part of membership requirements for the club and as such, we are attempting to make the open runs more challenging so that prospective members will have an idea the kind of wheeling we do in the club.  It also give you an opportunity to see if we are the right organization for you.  CJA open runs can be found in the CJA 2012 calendar in the CJA Events area.  These runs are designed for those considering membership and of course, those with Jeeps.

The official requirements for membership are as follows:
  • Candidate must drive 2 CJA sanctioned run (posted in the CJA calendar).  The 101 does not count.
  • Candidate must attend 2 CJA general meetings
  • Candidate must complete one sanctioned trail project.  01Sahara or Frenchy will determine if a project is sanctioned
The exec will discuss the prospective members request and discuss.  Unofficially, we are looking for individuals that are ready to join the club, are willing and able to lead a run and have the basic requirements on their Jeep for a members run (winch, CB, etc).

We have some plans for trail projects this year.  Watch the Land Issues and Trail Projects area for upcoming projects as the weather warms up.

The 101 is also being planned once again this year to introduce individuals who have not wheeled a lot to the sport in a safe and responsible manner.  If you are new to the sport, this is an excellent way to learn from some experienced people.

And for those of you who just want to wheel, please feel free to post up runs or join runs in the Open Runs area.  You may or may not get actual CJA members on these runs, but there are plenty of people wanting to wheel and it is a great way to hook up.

If you have any questions about the club, please feel free to PM me.  I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.  If you are interested in joining, come out a meeting or open run and introduce yourself.

See you on the trails...
