Just be carefull with the WJ arm if you are running a 35" or more tire. The longer arm will add stress to the box.

Mildly wheeled on 35's should be ok, and wheel the crap out 33's is fine.

Stop at a chev dealer for ac delco ps fluid. Really high quality and ultra cheap.

Well, the TJ is on 35's, and apparently, I like to "catch a lot of air" when wheeling....

Switching to 34 x 9.5 x 15 pizza cutter Narrow SS....might help a bit with the stress.

Its mostly a diameter thing, and most the failures are usually impact related. Like sliding sideways and having the smack into something.

Regardless, on the older TJ and XJ's, sector shaft failures are really rare. The newer boxes on the 03 and ups are weak and really prone to snapping.

You should be fine.

Hey Bill, whats a good, reasonably priced upgrade for the 03's and up? Any JY swaps?

I'm assuming that the same as previous years would work....Durango V8's and ZJ boxes.

I thought the 03's and up had a different bolt pattern or something that makes them non interchangeable with the earlier TJ's.

I stand corrected, they are different.  Supposedly you can redrill one hole and get away with it.
