i been messing around trying to put a different transfer case in my 97 TJ. it appears now that the ouput shaft of my new one isnt quite the same. now that its all installed It looks like im only grabbing about 1 3/4" of splines. is that enough? i have room to extend the shaft another 1.5" but its $300. any ideas would be great thanks!

As long as you maintain decent engagement when the suspension if fully drooped, then you are fine. If you dont wheel, you are definately fine.
You should talk to Danco for driveshaft work. 300 to lengthen a shaft is really steep.

Bill sent me to Danco for my shafts. $150 to lengthen and balance. $100 to shorten and balance.

With stock length suspensions the driveshaft will extend under compression of the suspension, and compress when the suspension droops. You might want to try to compress the suspension and see what the driveshaft does.
