After a rough start which involving pulling a JK out of a pit for 2 1/2 hours it was a good day. I think Mr.Buki got everything he bargained for on this run  .

I'll answer your question since I was the one that got stuck. You get over confident about what your rig can do and you follow another rig through what you thought was the easiest line (a line which I had gone through in the past under what I thought were similar conditions). Unfortunately, my rig was just a little too short for the job (only a 2.5 inch lift), and it got high centred from front to back in the slickest, sloppiest mud I have ever seen with a steep bank on the other side which I did not notice on the way in. Now I know what people mean when they say mud can be a nightmare. Hopefully, I have lerned my lesson and will watch much more closely in the future for the signs of this type of situation.

Fortuntately, everyone else on the run were there to get me out. I've never been stuck like that before and it is amazing how difficult it is to sit in a mud pit and not be able to get out of your rig and help. I hate the fealing of helplessness. Many ideas were tried and finaly one worked. Good job guys!

Fortunately, I was able to limp my jeep home north of Red Deer after getting a leak in my power steering pump. Amazingly, after washing the jeep the leak seemed to seal it self (did not have to pour any more power stearing fluid into the reservoir on the way home after checking it constantly).  But, it is amazing how even a little mud in thee wrong place can cause your jeep to shudder. After cleaning the areas I thought most crucial to get home I had to stop a couple times to clean other areas to stop the shuttering. Finally, the right clump of dried mud must have fallen off during a turn and the jeep stop shuttering at higher speeds.

I have been debating between 33s and 35s in the near future. Given this experience, it will definately be 35s (with a healthy dose of a new reality and respect for mud).

I actually have cramps in my fingers and hands this morning from pulling winch cable yesterday! Awesome day anyway!  

Let's see what we saw yesterday;
1. JKU Rubicon got BEYOND Stuck for a long long time. At one point had a rig winching it with a snatch block connected with a tow strap to another rig and that rig winched onto a tree and the tree finally gave up...JKU still stuck.
2. Sliced front NEW  Duratrack on a YJ
3. Scraped off half of the bottom of my JKU...need a lift and tires BAD.
4. TJ with 35's and lockers got winched up a big sloppy step.
5. Cherokee got stuck and yanked out by a rig
6. My JKU got stuck and yanked out by the previous Cherokee.
7. Same YJ with the flat tried to back down a steep hill and almost rolled...major pucker factor. Must have been the non  Duratrack! Then winched himself up the rest. dog moved to rig next in line for safety.
8. Dog moved back to YJ at the top, Cherokee with 33's winched up the same spot.

Not sure if I missed anything but my hand and fingers are starting to cramp up again.

Poor Fubuki. He's getting old, running up those hills really got to him.  He slept all the way home, I could here him snoring over the stereo.

Good Fun thanx guys for coming out to PROJECT FUGLY's Payoff run.  She did great (need a locker though).  Going out today to order another duratrac.
Its literally amazing the adrenaline rush you get from this addiction.
