You haven't offended me. If you had, you'd know it. If you had specific questions that you felt weren't answered, then the thing to do would be to ask them in the original thread, instead of saying this:
Thanks for the advice W Squared. I know I have lots to learn about this stuff. I am only thinking about swapping if I can find some take offs for free.
As for the sliders, I agree and I am trying to sell off my step rails so I can pick up some sliders.
At no point have I demeaned you for not knowing something. I have simply tried to demonstrate to you that the way you have gone about seeking answers to your questions is counter-productive. If you stop and think about it, all I am doing is trying to pass some knowledge about successfully using the resource that internet forums represent. If you think that I've handled you roughly or you find my words hurtful, then I hope that you never, ever visit Pirate or JK Owners.
I'd also add that the answers to every question you have asked so far are there for the taking in the posts that forum members have made here.
If you're not interested in having knowledge passed on from folks that are more experienced, then best of luck - and may I suggest buying a shop manual. If you are interested in benefiting from what others have learned and are willing to share, then I'd suggest that you read lots, post little, learn as much as you can, use the search function until you're blue in the face, and be very specific when you post questions. That's what I tried to do when I was starting to learn about Jeeps (and compared to some folks here I am still a novice), and it served me well. Doing that makes the people who are volunteering their time and knowledge feel that it's appreciated and worth their time. Even if you had different questions in mind, posting what reads as the same question in four different threads makes people feel that you're not reading their answers....and makes them lose interest in helping you.
