Mclean Creek on May Long
« on: May 17, 2012, 10:58:40 AM »
Anybody else wheeling at McLean this weekend? I'm meeting a couple friends to wheel with, but since I just joined this forum I thought I'd see if anyone else on this site is going on Saturday

Most of us avoid McLean Creek and other local wheeling areas on May Long. The number of retreads who show up, get drunk, go mud bogging, and trash the place is too high for our tastes. You're welcome to join us the following weekend when we go out to clean the place up.  :)
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

That is so not true.
The last 2 years have been a huge difference. Police prescence is heavy. Messes to clean up are minimal and IF you have never wheeled Maclean on a long weekend, you are really missing out. Trails are EMPTY because the majority that camp, wheel within a 0.5 km radius.
Did you know that there was nothing to report last year so the media which obviously has influenced you, used footage from prior years.

Thats exactly why I make sure I go out there every year to see whats happening, I didn't even camp last year I just checked things out. If its anything like last year there won't be much of a clean up to do for the above mentioned reasons. Its ridiculous out there, a crack in the windshield could easily get you a ticket.

Absolutely true .
I've noticed a drastic improvement at Maclean in the last 2 years. The BS fire ban and increased pork presence has kept the city kids and hillbillies from making too much of a mess.  I haven't witnessed a truck/couch race in years. There was also reduced volume of garbage on our yearly clean-ups the following weekend.

Ya I know it might be a bit crazy out there but I don't feel like driving 500Kms on MTs to go with that other group this weekend. Especially cause Saturday is the only day I got to wheel. Well anyways I'll most likely be starting at Fisher East at 11am. Let me know if you want to come. I'm wheelin with a couple xjs and a jk

You guys have the old lady SRD officer with the mole. There no need for the police.  ;D ... She scared the hell out of good ol Ron a few years back. He's still talking about it

This is very true. Last time we were out in PC, he was telling ghost stories about her around the campfire.
