UM........That was the Diagnostic fee, their fee was $179.00 and the rest was the cleaning and shop supplies. Yes I did buy a gas cap for it and when I asked if I should put the original back on they said it was best to stay with the new one, Perhaps I was a bit of a fool but I thought part of being a Jeep owner was taking the time to learn to do new things by yourself and enjoy the results..... Wow! I guess I've been scolded......

ok, i will try again. IF you paid the $100 diagnostic fee, they would have found the problem, it would be covered under warranty. You would not have bought a gas cap and i think? that if it was a warranty item, the diagnostic charge is waived. Only going by your warranty info you posted (extended, bumper to bumper).
i know i have paid the diagnostic fee and once it was discovered that it was warranty, the fee was waived.
Maybe times have changed?

ANYWAYS, have a good and safe trip.

Sorry my bad. I bought the jeep in Feb from a dealer and it had 100,000 kms on it . I purchased a separate after market warranty from the dealer . The warranty is with a company called Coast to Coast. I checked with Auto Pro prior to signing anything and he said that because I had also bought the extras chances were that it would be covered but he said some of these companies were a bit fussy. I told him that I needed it fixed anyway so to go ahead and get the thing diagnosed and submit it for approval and fix it. I guess the warranty company does not pay for diagnostics but would pay for the parts and installation resulting from the diagnostics. Pretty good for an aftermarket bumper to bumper warranty sold to me by a dealer huh. The old saying a sucker born every minute applies to me in this case. Oh well still no regrets on buying the JK. Still puts the smile on my face when I get behind the wheel.
