so we are upgrading our tv and im wondering where is the best place to go? im looking for a 46"+ lcd/led. any suggestions?

I Was in the market for a new tv a few months ago. Mine was warrantied at future shop so I upgraded at the same time. I had a plasma and prefered them over the led when side by side. 46" is on the small size. It's too easy to get into the 60" range for similar prices. If you go led make sure it is at least 240 Hz. The 120Hz has a slower picture and some ghosting. LCD are what they are. If I didn't have warranty I'd go to Costco. You can't beat their warranty and prices aren't bad. If you have the room look into projectors.

I just bought an LG that was last years model from Memory Express.  They have a killer Instore Product Replacement thing if you are into extended warranties.  I rarely do.  And 3D will go the way of the 8-track.  Save your money, and go for Smart T.V (internet compatible).  Organic LED (OLED) is the next "must have", but is not supposed to come out till fall.  All depends if you want to be the Jones' or keep up with them.

Memory Express will beat any price in Canada by 25% of the difference on the same model TV as long as the place with the lower price has it in stock.... They will always give you the lowest price, or at least try to even if the competitor doesnt have one in stock... At least they did when I was managing the SE location

Im no longer there however, but just even go in for information if you like, they wont lie to ya about specs. Talk to Ryan D if you go to the SE store.

I bought a 55 inch 2012 Toshiba from Visions on Macloed about a month ago.  Its a true 55 inch (no rim around the outside), LED, passive 3D, smart-tv, wifi with Keybaord, blah blah blah. Basically all the bells and whistles. Told the guy I want the best and that I would also be buying a gateway, 2 portals and a 3d Blu-ray and what I wanted to spend. I got the TV for $300 below the sale price they just advertised in last weeks flyer. 
They have a huge selection, airmiles and are willing to wheel-and-deal, just make sure you talk to the manager and make it known you are willing to buy not just looking around.  Finally, they have a great warranty program, where if you do not use it at by the end of the term you get it back in full.

Having personally worked at Memory Express, Visions, Futureshop, Best Buy, and others.... I recommend the first two, for the reasons stated in the two previous posts among other things.

Just a warning about the 'get it back in full if you don't use it' scam, er - I mean warranty. Sure, I got my $50 back, but I had to spend over $250 to do it.
I'd also recommend thinking about where you're placing the the TV before you go shopping as lighting will play a big part in it. Nice sunny room? That shiny reflective plasma might not be the best option, even though it looks great in the showroom. Dark room? If the blacks are crushed you won't be able to watch those scary movies and see the picture. Something to keep in mind when talking to the sales guys. Good luck with the search.
