Jenssen could chime in here. I believe he used a weld-on beadlock kit for his steelies on his race truck, seems like a less-expensive alternative to buying new rims.

I run welded beadlocks on steelies. Run them on the highway, street and trail. Never had a problem. My tsl's are far from round so can say on balance. Love them. They were cheap and i got to pick my design. And nothin beats running 3 psi. And aparts from what anyone says, there is no law against them.

Yeah Tom, I'm a member on pirate.  Cuz jerks like me prefer straight up answers and opinions.  Don't you have a jeep someone else built to buy an don't wheel?

In the meantime my bought jeeps will sill go places that you have never been except for the one i now have as its too mint to to destroy. i guess if i wheel  with you it will still remain mint though

Please Tom, I attempted killer cutline back in 2001 with crazydavey, didn't make it an ate my words then. You were still a newb having others turn wrenches so you font break a nail. Nothing has changed.  Either give a valid opinion on what you run,and what works or don't. Don't get into a "who's more hardcore" pissing match. No rig you have ever owned in the past or present has lived up to the claims you make.
Don't break a nail in your response, which I am sure will prove you to be the bigger man. Lol

2001? Only ran it the forward way with open/open on 33's.
No argument from me over my inept mechanical ability. Just because you wrench doesn't mean anything in driver ability or the beans to try insane stuff. i can not turn a wrench but i never shied away from anything.
Amazing that everyone that did turn wrenches for me never badmouthed me because i was smart enough to carry tools and parts and a bbq. i made many a trailside smorgasborg to look after those that fixed my jeeps. Did it in Ontario, Tellico, Moab and Alberta. Seemed to work out well.
As far as the hardcore commentary, you threw the first grenade. No response from me warranted until you threw out the buy and not wheel a jeep comment.
i simply responded in a Pirate fashion based on your first Pirate post. i was confused and thought i was on Pirate.

I asked a simple question. I don't need opinions on what to use from those who don't use em.
Sure you wheeled rigs that someone else built in every crevice south of alberta, but money doesn't equal experience or respect Tom. My wife can rent a built rubicon in moan, does that make her more experienced?  Keep your yap shut unless you run the equipment I'm asking opinions on. I don't need to spout where I have wheeled, just that I wheeled what I built....
I never called you out Tom, re read the post. If anyone reading has an opinion from experience, respond.  If not, don't bother. Pretty simple

Raceline has some nice, strong wheels.
Install is easy, throw in some beads and they're fine on the highway.

i gave you 2 good links. Raceline seems to be the best.
Allied is a cheaper option that many seem to like.
PS, the rubicon i paid to be built had every single thing decided by me. The exo was my design. Gear choice, tire choice, chromolly choice, ctm's, etc. i may not know how to build it with my hands but i sure know how to determine what is best for the application i wanted.
And if your comment regarding go buy some more built jeeps that you don't wheel was not directed at me, than i must be nuts. As far as i remember the last built jeep i bought is not wheeled, so yeah, the shoe fits.

Listen, you come on asking for opinions. Maybe you had a crap day. i just called you on it.
Good luck on your quest.
Out.
i have to go manicure my nails in time for the next offroad bike race i will be doing. Its been tough these last 6 years of racing keeping my nails groomed. ;)

No offence was meant or taken.  Built vs bought is another arguement. Your not the only one on the board who has been wheeling long before cja ever came about. No need to beat dead horses or kill a thread with a valid question.

Both of you are crusty and need to chill out. But then again, I don't run beadlocks (yet) so I'll just STFU.  ;)
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

I have stauns in my pitbulls... I ran them One time...

BUT they worked well at 6psi and less work than a steel bead lock. Plus you get both beads sat instead of just the outter.

I believe bill has a whole box of 15" stauns at his place you could probably nab cheap.

Plus if you went metal you'd have to find a real welder to put them on ;)
