Waiporous Saturday the 18th
« on: August 16, 2012, 08:54:02 AM »
So some people in the Alberta JK Forum put this run together and it seems to be growing so I wanted to post on CJA in case anyone wanted to go. This is open to everyone not just JK's.

From the JK forum

Let's say 9:00 at the Smitty's in Cochrane, it's a great place to meet as they have a nice big lot and it's easy to find too.

The trail to the falls is pretty much dirt, rock, mud, and a few times you cross the stream which by this time of year is usually like driving through about 10" of water at most.  Very beautiful trail, perfect for making videos. :-)

Yep. Let some air out of the tires. Just to soften up the ride.

Just to clarify if your going to Waiparous we are meeting a Smitty's at 9:00. When you said store I wanted to make sure you didn't think the McLean Creek store.

i did the first 13km of the trail in a bone stock, right off the showroom floor sahara, and it pulled through with no problems

i only did the first 13km and then drove back, and we were in there for about 6.5 hours... it was my first time wheeling and we were alone, so we took it slow and my gf was always getting out to spot for me through the dried up mud sinkholes. some sections are a bit scary if you are a beginner like myself, but overall it is a fun trail

hi all,
I'm trying to put together all photos and videos that I have, i will get back soon with link.

Excellent trail, I thinking about doing this again on next Sat, but thru the shortest path (straight to 4 corners than to waterfall)
