Mclean OPEN RUN sept 30 UPDATED WITH PICS
« on: September 20, 2012, 12:11:02 AM »
Hey guys, so me and a friend are planning on heading out on the 30th of Sept to Mclean

We are going for a fun trial ride

31+ tire size good tow/recovery Straps, good tow hooks front and back, winches are a bonus.

Any 4x4 can come, what ever you have bring it out.

We aren't going to mess around, if you come and be a jack A** and get stuck or just being plain stupid you will be left there with out getting my help.

This isn't a noob run, "sorry guys" so no STOCK 4x4s, unless you are a rubicon or got lockers. In stock I mean no lift or big tires

The plan as in right now is be at the storey at 10 AM and head out at 10 15 AM or so...

We will also stay as 1 big group I don't want 2 diff groups going there own way, also any one can leave at any time they want

So far me and my friend are in this.

Again anyone is welcome as long as they meet what is mentioned above my phone number is 403 612 1893 text me or post on here if need be name is MOE

Thanks a lot hope to see some of you out there

Update, there is also another group forming up from beyond.ca so make sure to spot my jeep

 8) 8)

ME. Jeep TJ: 10000 Winch, LSD back open front MT tires

Friend. Toyota 4 Runner, locked back open front MT tires

VooDoo. 2012, Rubi, stock.

Just a heads up that the trail to the Falls is closed until October 31 and there is no way in on Meadow Creek since the bridge is washed out and the trail is closed. So you're limited to going in on Lost Knife or past Camp Chamisall to 4 corners, then to the lake and then back the same way.

And by the way....a bone-stock 4X4 with solid recovery points and AT tires will have no issues running all of the trails that Fraser just outlined. Even  when the trail to the falls is open, a stock TJ or JK on AT's can make it without issues (unless there's a bunch of snow).
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

(unless there's a bunch of snow).

Then you just snap driveshafts and have to get pulled out by an H1 :P

So make sure you take an H1 in the winter, best piece of recovery gear ever.

You only need an H1 if there's a ZJ on the run.

Honestly though....I've seen stock 1 tons (and H2's and H3's that were stock) make it at least as far as the big hill near the falls.

The plan now is to McLean top of the world and the side tracks up the mountains and around the camp grounds

Top of the world is hard the last time I went, yes there is side tracks to get up there but I don't want to worry about first timers.
last time I went, there was a stock tj and the guys dog ran in front of him and the dude stalled and rolled down the hill smashing in to a tree so that is why and he was a stock tj no lift and nornal street tires.

You should clarify your requirements for the run, they are not too clear right now. I'll change the thread title for you once I get off my phone.

EDIT: Looks like someone already did.

Meh. My comment was more of a dig at Fraser than at you or at ZJ's in general....but you ZJ pilots are so touchy. It must be all the comfortable, pillow-like leather feeling up your rumps. Turns you into poofters or something  :)

I'd say that was a driving issue....not an equipment issue...but then again, you're the one leading the run so you're the one who gets to say who can and can't come with you.

X2

I took a stock 2011 JK and a stock 2005 Landrover with me up TOTW last month and back down to Fisher East at night, no issues and they had a blast!

Stalling and flopping is not really a feature of any terrain I've come across, driver skill ;)
