first off I am new and love the questions to make an account. (I guess I got them all right )
I have a 2011 Sahara, I've been banging my head against the wall fighting the traction control. I hate it! I hit a curb last winter because it took over, I fish tail on washboard roads (very scary going up a mountain) I can't "stunt" in the mud or snow any more because it won't let me go over 1200 rpms. I talked to the dealership and they have told me that to get rid of it I'd have to buy a chip to over ride it but then it would void my warranty and liability issues blah blah blah. I hate this traction control soo much I've asked the person that I sold my old 98 Jeep to let me buy it back. They love it too much and won't till they need a new one(he is 19 and won't buy new till hes 25. (still kicking my self for selling) That button that "turns off" the traction control doesn't really work. I still can't whip my arse around nor does it help on washboard roads. I hate when I go around corners on icy conditions and it kicks in, normally I crank the wheel the other way and punch it to get it back in control but this traction control won't let me.
Is there any way besides voiding my warranty to get rid of this? If I knew then when buying the new Jeep that it had this "safety" feature (its dangerous as hell) in it, I would of never bought a new Jeep; I would of kept the old one till it totally died.
I can't see a person who goes off roading and gets bogged down in a mud pit getting out with out getting over 1200 rpms. So there has to be a trick to disable it.
Thanks for letting me vent!
