Hitting the Trails... With Minor Upgrades.....(?)
« on: October 14, 2012, 09:05:19 PM »
Hey guys, so I've a 2010 JK 2dr, with a Warn Rock Crawler front bumper, Warn M8000 winch, and some 33x12.5x15 Duratracs miunted on Pro Comp Series 52 15x8-3.75"BS wheels... I do not plan on going major rock crawling or anything as of yet but would like to hit a trail somewhere and get some mud (and soon snow) all over... Is this a good enough starting point, as I know it's recommended to have a lift and suspension, but that is not feasible right now, I just want to make sure I won't screw up my ride apart from any personal mistakes lol thanks guys!

get yourself a kinetic recovery strap. Not the tow straps you find at canadian tire.. but an actual elastic recovery strap. Then you will be set ;)

The winch is great but often better used as a last resort. A kinetic strap can be used to pull you out forwards or backwards so long as you have proper recovery points and a buddy on the trails with you :)
I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

Awesome! Thanks for the input, and the tip! I'll go check 'em out! By the way, I know of Modern Motors, JBs Power Centre, and National 4WD as local shops, any others you guys could recommend?
