Tint and 3M
« on: December 15, 2012, 05:29:39 PM »
Many of you have asked in the past about who to go see about tint. i, many years ago touted a guy named Damien at Icon.
Since that long ago post, he has recieved many kudos for doing a great job.
Recently, i took a car to him for 30% tint all arouns and 3M front protection.

Wow, he is so meticulous and good at what he does i thought i would promote him again.
He has moved from his 32nd St location closeby and next door to Hooters at 32/Barlow.

Well not good when you take the time and gas to drive there during business hours and the place is all locked up because they are " on site" spmewhere.

Shadow Tint on Macleod.

Had a good experience with them doing the Jeep, I'll be taking the truck there in the spring. Tint is matched and installed perfectly, warranty, turnaround was only a few hours, price was in line with what I expected.

Tom has a point . Most high-end window tint shops require an appointment and for clients to drop off their vehicles to be worked on. Good installers are in high demand in this city and Dealerships have them come to their business to do multiple vehicles a day. Damien does phenomenal and meticulous work.

Most tuner/luxury car folk are split on who to go to. It's usually Icon or Shadow Tint that gets the rave reviews. I've dealt with both and have had excellent results on 2 different cars. If Icon can't help you , then see Nuno at Shadow Tint.

Oh, okay...I guess I'm too new to the world of tinting...EVERY other vehicle modification and performance shop/store/retailer I have EVER dealt with in my 24 years of modifying vehicles, ran regular business hours and had staff at their locations to at least answer questions. I didn't say I expected to just drop by and get immediate service on getting my windows tinted...I was in the area and wanted to get a price quote and to get an answer as to what percentage the factory tint was on the rear windows of my new truck. Oh and for the record, in the past I have had 6 vehicles tinted by various shops and NONE of them required that I call them first to see if there was anyone there LOL. Also, no where on the mandoor of this business was there a note explaining the were abouts of staff or any indication that customers were required to call ahead and not just simply drop by. So, no Tom, I don't feel as if I'm to blame in ANY way, but thanks anyway for your assessment. I personally feel it's just plain bad business practice. I don't mind going elsewhere.

Anyway as has been mentioned above, shadowtint has good reviews.
i got lucky as i dropped by when they were closed and someone was there, go figure.
