really need help with my winch problem :(

hi i just installed a new 12000 pound winch by rough country on the jeep i wanted to spool the cable but i decided i should test it out before i pull it out to much, so i pulled it out about 3 -4 feet and had it engaged, i hooked up the remote but when i pressed a button the jeep just started to lose power, and i herd the winch get power but the cable didn't move at all ( the jeep was turned on) and if i held the button down the seemed like the jeep was about to turn off from loss of power. this is a 2012 jeep wrangler unlimited rubicon. do i need a new battery or did i do something wrong with the wiring. PLZ HELP!

Is it possible that you got the positive and negative reversed?  If you want bring it by the shop today and I would be glad to help point you in the right direction

I found the problem!!!!

You put a shitty chinese winch from an even shittier chinese knock off based company on to a perfectly fine north american made jeep.

A 12k winch on a jk? Lol.
Nothing like buying a 100lb piece of crap.
I'm sure a 8k warn or superwinch would have done the job for both times that jk gets wheeled in the next 10 years.

Actually my first jeep got beat pretty hard. I thought big lift an tires meant i was a better wheeler,and that's why it ended up upside down in a gully. But I do see your point. Everyone should learn at their own pace,and don't knock down the new guy for trying.
