Anybody go out there ? I heard it was pretty quiet. Maclean I heard was a different story, it sound like it was one of the busiest/wildest for a long time. I drove through sunday night it looked kind of busy, cars all over the place even saw a 4x4 or 2, but mostly it just looked like party central.
I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.

i had a friend that went to gohst Wip. area and he said it was nuts. for the ammount of trails that are available and the amount of people there were, the raito was nuts. AND COPS EVERYWHERE, his uncle's g/f got a $200 fine because she had an open beer in her hand. apperantly it kinda sucked.  :P
but thats just what i got from a friend at work.

I was the first guy there me and the dog spent tuesday night in fourcorners with only one other site of a few people. than i sat back and wathched the madness unfold for the rest of the week. It was pretty crazy but i have only been to two may longs at waip so cant compare. RC's and fish cops every where both sides of the river all day. I watched many too many way too many beer get dumped out buy the case. I think i masterd the only trails we are alloud to travel on. All around a good week just look both ways about 4 times before you step off your site and on trail cus i think the min speed for quads was 100km an hour.
all i broke was an alternater, i guess it did not like the mud hole i put it in, But had to show my buddy why i wheel a jeep and not a chevy(he got towed out runnin 33s and the old ford on 36s behind me got towed too)

Loved every minute of the chaos but i am acrazy bastard from nova scotia, sad too see it close down

also was out there, gravel pits were closed so no ravers! Found a crazy burger kiosk down waiparous valley road, note to self-don't get hammered and buy all your buddies food. Also it was pretty sketchy. Got to see a few guys get $5000 dollar tickets and even one guy get a $10000 ticket, after they gave it to him he started packing up his camp and was heaving chairs and stuff into his brand new dodge, pretty funny but bummer for that guy. Not too much action out there though, really fun had a blast saw a few enormous rides. But it was fun and safe no buddy got hurt, maybe just a few egos!!

five and ten thousand dollar tickets for what exactly?

Or is your keyboard just malfunctioning? LOL

I was out Fri., Sat. night. Was really quiet out on Cabin Creek Trail.
We stayed away from the main strips like  Waip. Val. Rd. and Hunter Val. Rd.

WOW.. it does seem steep :?

$5000 is alot of ca$h but not compare to all the costs associated with putting out forest fires...

Wow I had no idea that the fines were that extreme...  I had my jeep up there from fri till sun and camping by four corners just up close to the bog (quad only trail...) and people were haveing fires fri early afternoon and thru the weekend.  We seen the helicopter cirlce a few sites beside us, maybe those people got tickets.  Good firework show by the river on sat...!!!

$5000 fine for campfire at a random camping site, while someone else was making money selling firewood to the "paying" campground folks.

Key words  ...... Fire Ban.... It was all over the news from wed on. I guess if you want to be an arse you gotta pay, and fire works,, yah they have never started a fire in the forrest or concert arena. People are stupid and if you support that kind of stupidity well I think you are just as culpable for the consequences.

Why are  the trails being closed?

Hey.  I never said I was for the damn fireworks.  I was being sarcastic.  That makes me culpable for the consequences?  Just for being there? Kinda harsh words I would think.  I never had no fire.  We sat around a battery powered lantern and got over it!  Sorry for being so defensive, but who on this site wants the remaining 15% of the trails we are allowed on gone?
