Dash Lights, marker lights, tail lights?
« on: February 24, 2013, 04:08:33 PM »
I hooked up to a pretty rough looking utility trailer, and we later noticed that some of the wires were frayed on the trailer,

now my dash lights, marker lights tail lights dont work, when i turn my lights on, but my head lights, turn signals, and brake lights still work at all times. my radio works and so does the heater,

I checked the fuses and they were all good, is it possibly a relay?

Thanks

Did you actually test the fuse or try a new one? Just looking at em won't always confirm good or bad

A lot of threads online said to check fuse 1, it's a 40 amp, I switched it with the one next to it, hoping to switch the fault, with no luck, also fuse 12 is good

Fuse checking in 4 easy steps

1.locate fuse block
2. Flip over fuse block cover
3. Look at the pretty picture and figure out what fuse it could be
4. Replace fuse it costs less then 5 cents per fuse. If I have any doubts I just replace

There are fuses in rhe fuse box and bigger fuses in the power box. Depending what year and model of jeep.

Right beside your battery, towards the grill you have a fuse/relay box. In it is a 40a fuse labeled exterior lighting in slot 3.

Exterior lighting fuse is good, all the fuses seem to be good, no corrosion or dirt in the box either,

Someone else mentioned it might be the actual switch to turn on my lights? But that would make it so my headlights wouldn't get brighter? And they do? So it must not be the switch?

It's weird that all the Exterior lights flash as they are required when turning, brake lights re good, but when I turn my lights on, the only lights that actually come on are my headlights getting brighter, dash back light still does nothing, the km gauge doesn't even dim like it used to, no heater lights, but the heater works,

Sooo weird, I'm thinking I might have ruffled a few feathers driving over an unmarked Indian burial ground? Or maybe someone has a voodoo doll with my name on it,
