Anyone eles put names on their Jeep?
« on: April 12, 2013, 11:34:39 AM »
Next week I am taking her in to have names put on both sides of the hood. I've already paid for it.
Then my brother pipes up "Thats cheesy". >:(
Granted I am putting my gaming name on her that is also a magic card. (maybe thats what he thinks is cheesy) :o

Since you asked and I have zero inner editor I'll offer my two cents.

Sounds gayer then aids.

That being said, its your Jeep and you should probably ignore me, I'm made up of %50 cheap beer and %50 refined grade A arsehole.

I wouldn't even ask the yahoos on this site...  lol....

It's your jeep...  do what you want.   I see no problem making your rig different from others...

Binare - you made me laugh....

We've been promoted to being yahoos? Since when? Does that mean we get a raise?

Yup. Kevin's Jeep and trailer are different from all the others, and we see no problem at all with his quick-detach wheels and spruce bumpstops.
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

Within my circle of wheelin buddies, every rig each of us have built over the years has managed to earn itself a nickname. Once it has earned a name, sometimes it is broadcast to the world with a sticker along the top of the windshield.
That being said, often we do not come up with the nickname of our rigs ourselves, it is more likely to be chosen by someone else within the group based upon experiences building the damn thing, or experiences on the trail.

Some examples are:
Dodgey  --  A full-size '80's Dodge built with Chevy drivetrain (sitting on 44's)
Shakes  --  Another full-size 80's Dodge diesel that had a tenacious childhood (sitting on 40's)
Fire Chief  --  An '98 XJ, red in colour (didn't see that one coming, did ya?), that was previously a fire marshal's work vehicle, had all sorts of holes drilled in the interior/exterior for their CB and radio equipment etc.
Swamp Donkey  --  '88 Toyota 4Runner, custom built to the point of non-recognition, renowned for being ugly but damn can it ever crawl through anything you throw at it
Lost Limey  --  '98 green XJ, owned by a limey bastard, who actually 'lost' the damn thing on the trail. Got left behind by the group on a night run after getting stuck, had to abandon it on the trail, find his own way back to camp, and when the search party started, couldn't find it until 4pm the next day.

These are just a few examples, but like I say these are rig names that have been earned appropriately, and chosen by others. Works really well if you ask me :)

I cant believe I wasted time reading that dribble. Gay
Do what you want.  Make the jeep yours. Even though that last list was full of commie zipperhead dribble.

Getting grumpier every day.

Perhaps one should ask what your Jeeps name is?

I call mine Angie. In my eyes shes built like a brick crap-house, has nice headlights, curvy bushwacker fenders, and shes absolutely flat in the rear as its an XJ...

To each their own. right? :)

It makes it unique to put a name on it. Putting a decal on the side differentiates you from the rest of the herd.

And speaking of stickers, if you want better mileage you need at least 2 Garrett Turbocharger decals....
I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

In true internet fashion, 9 out of 10 replies have nothing to do with the OPs comments. He's asking about putting magic card mumbo jumbo on his Jeep, not about naming it. Mines called either POS or the Tractor depending on its or my mood at the time. Jeeps attract the ladies, unless you have your world of Warcraft orcs stats tattooed to the hood, be honest with the guy.
