Death Wobble Help
« on: April 24, 2013, 08:27:04 PM »
If anyone here knows someone who can help me diagnose my death wobble, please give me their contact info!
I'm getting sick of guessing and being wrong.

Thank you!

Read up on this helpful information if you haven't already:
http://www.kevinsoffroad.com/how-to-fix-your-own-death-wobble/

Trackbar is usually first culprit: Check tie rod end, bushing on other end, and any slop in the bolt (no warped bolt hole etc)
Next I'd look at tie rod ends in the steering system (drag link, and tie rod).
If those are all good, time to look at ball joints, wheel hub/bearings, and control arm bushings.

Death wobble can be a tiresome trouble to track down... personally I'm tired of running my front wheels toe'd-out as a band-aid fix, so I'm replacing all of the above parts with custom designed and built parts. When in doubt, break out the welder! Haha :)

I have done A LOT of research into it already haha.
We just can't seem to find where the problem is  - if it's something loose or needing a new bushing. There are just so many possibilities with death wobble.

Thanks, I'll send you a PM right away :)

We aligned it and did a tire balance - which didn't help.
Currently waiting for a track bar bushing to arrive at the local shop.
And if that won't fix it, hopefully we can determine what else it could be.
