tranny rebuild shops
« on: August 14, 2013, 11:55:19 AM »
there is no rush on this, but i'm thinking when/if i pull my transmission might as well get it rebuilt, and i'd like to have it rebuilt with a manual valve body or what not (so i can control the shifts), where abouts would you folks go to get an auto (46rh) rebuilt.

just looking for places to call around and get quotes. if what i want to do is to much of a pain in the arse i might just ditch the project.

We've dealt with a national transmission. They worked so far. Do some research on converting to full manual.

Dominion couldn't care less when I told then I would drop off the tranny. Quoted me 1500-3500 before I even told him what tranny it was. Told him to get me a real quote and call back. No call......

Will try national tomorrow

Give them some details on wht you'd like to do. Don't expect it to be cheap though.

lol, jeeps are among the cheapest vehicles in existance to repair and maintain John.  You just dont like to spend money.

If you werent so bent on driving a grand you could get 3 replacement transmissions for a YJ and 8 AW4's for an xj for the price of rebuilding that peice of crap auto.

Just sayin

Put down your European gentleman's handbag and swap in a manual transmission.  :o
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(
