yup thats what i'm doing ...still ne nice to find out who built it so can get the history of it.

If i can't it's no worry, I'll figure it out and fix it right the first time

Bill....why are you right so bloody often?

To the OP and anyone else who want to whine about the expectation that some folks have about using the basic convention of the english language to make your posts legible - just understand that most of the people that CAN help you, WON'T. Not because they're dicks, but because trying to read what you type gives them a splitting headache.

Use capitals, punctuate, and put things into paragraphs, and nobody will care about your spelling or grammar. You'll probably get an honest effort from the folks here to help out. Or pay the shop rate at a string of shops around town until you luck out and find someone that is willing to chisel through the JB weld holding your rig together. It's really up to you - because I certainly don't give even 1/10 of 1% of a frack.

OK so Because it's a big issue,  i fixed up the original post but i just don't have time for it to be perfect right now...if it isn't good enough now then i'll just forget about it and i'll dig deeper in person seeing how i speak fine lol  Although i really do appreciate the ppl who have helped ty

PS jb weld? well ya may think it's a p.o.s but it's my p.o.s and was very well made. It takes me everywhere i want to go it doesn't squeak or rattle and drives beautiful (other then tie rod now lol ) and runs mint.

I work on my own vehicles ..i was mechanic and nobody works on my rig,  If i can't fix it then i replace it.

I think you are misunderstanding what i'm asking.  I don't need someone to work on it or fix it for me, I can handle it thanks.  Now imagine you have something and you don't know  where it came from, or where to get parts for it cause you don't know where its made or who built it.................Thats where i am and thats it.
If i have to replace it then so be it  but there is nothing wrong with it ,  I just need a part lol Oh and nuts and bolts and proper welds hold my rig together same as yours...no need to insult my truck cause your trying to make an example of me lol  Plus Jb Weld is awesome  *calling  peace*

Of course people are misunderstanding what you are saying...  Your first post (before the edit) makes you come across as Jethro from Beverly hillbillies if he had Down syndrome. Maybe rain man (Now that's a lol). On a serious note though, Bill is like Calgary's own jeep guru. Make nice, apologize and you'll notice everybody will do what they can to help. Just my $0.02.

so again i'm sorry but that last time i'm apologizing as now i feel i'm being insulted and treated like a kid "just saying" I graduated in 96 i forget stuff after never using it so i'm rusty give me a break :-)

...this is my setup for my tie rods.  One solid bar from passenger tierod to the clamp on other side.  Can't remove tie rod from bar, So  Obviously i'm gonna need from one side to other as i never replace just one.

Umm that looks like a rusty or rugged ridge steeriing conversion. Could be some one elses. Do not know.
If it is rugged ridge, they use there own tie rod ends. No one makes tie rod ends to fit and they are chinese made crap. Lets make Calgary roads safe and get rid of those chinese made junk parts.  If rustys then on there website they did list all there parts some where with cross reference part numbers for replacement. Might luck out and access parts for that.
What is with the steering stablilizer and bent ? Track bar?

Andy (morerpmfred) has more experience with XJ's than most, so he's probably got some sound advice for you.

I don't know much about XJ's, but I do know that steering is somewhere where you definitely get what you pay for. I have never regretted a single penny of the money that I've spent on Currie products, so here's my suggestion:

http://www.currieenterprises.com/cestore/product.aspx?id=1219

Fleetline, if my original response cheesed you off - that was not my intention. I'll just ask you to put yourself in our place. There's a bunch of us that know each other, wheel together about 10% as much as we'd like to, and drink beer at meetings. The money we pay every year keeps the club and this site running. We tend to see a fair number of folks that show up here, make zero effort to introduce themselves, don't want to do any actual reading or research for themselves, and seem to expect us to hand them the answers that they want to hear on a silver platter. If the silver platter is the wrong shape, they throw a temper tantrum and call us all names. It doesn't upset us too much as long as the beer at the meetings is still cold.

You are not one of those people - you obviously know more than them and you listen WAY more than they do. The extra pics and your extra effort to make the posts easier to read mean that you're willing to work at getting the right answers, so I think you'll find that the club members are going to do what they can to help out now.

Stop being so defensive and just get over it. Its pretty simple. Show some respect for us and we will help you. Ok? Thats done. Now you know, so lets fix your rig.

That setup looks like a factory YJ inverted T steering system. Are the tie rods shot? You may be better off with a proper "Y" system from another XJ/TJ/ZJ etc etc. So before you spend money on that steering, we need to answer a few more questions.

Can you get lower and snap a shot that show the entire track bar and the draglink together.

Do you get bumpsteer with setup? As in, does the wheel jar slightly when when you hit bumps?

I am around all day today, and tomorrow if you want to stop out and have me go over you rig with you. Bring your pen and a large regular from tims and we can get you pointed in the right direction.

That is a generous offer from Bnine and very much the reception you find from the vast majority of the members on here. It's like anything unfamiliar if you show up and listen first and respect the house of those you are joining it makes for a good experience.

All the best sorting your rig out.

This offer is not just generous, but very valuable. Bill's got a wealth of knowledge and will give you rock-solid advice on your rig.

The bushings will have a lot more influence on the death wobble. One sloppy tie rod really wint hurt much. If you change out that tie rod and the front end does graduate to full on death wobble there is a good chance it will ruin the new tie rod you install.

My cell is in my sig. Im out in langdon. So if you are heading out just text me for directions.

In the meantime i will check my shelves for some factory arms with decent bushings. I probably have a few laying around you can have.

hey sorry i had to work till late ...i'll get those pics up asap ...i work 12's 6 days a week but i will do my best tomorrow
i haven't been driving jeep as i don't want to cause more damage to it lol thanks buddy

Oh and it's not really a death wobble ...i can literally feel that tire with bad tie rod wobble abit in rain or when hit a bump,  Bushings been going in control arms upper and lower for abit but not that bad and wasn't doing it before and they don't look anyworse

My tierods are my #1 issue as i need it for work and i'm screwed without it, i just don't want to put a weak system in it ...money isn't really the issue , i take my niece and nephew out in it and needs to be safe not cheap.  Nice to drive it home after going wheeling lol

oh and sometimes it stalls ...done it to me twice so far ...almost like the cap is wet,  but it's not
Let it sit for few min and fires right up, start it before and sputters like wet wires or cap but it not lol any suggestions?
