Sorry for not replying, I didn't have any cell coverage at the campsite. Snorkle is insurance, cheaper than a motor and besides it looks cool LOL.

Snorkels are to new wheelers what lights are to moths, the opposite of insurance and they look silly... Usually.

No It doesn't, cause I'm referring to the feeling of false invincibility some people think they provide. Slap a snorkel on and go for a swim! Still need common sense, which escapes "some".

This discussion was less boring the first time we had it.

I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

Thanks for the replies, by the way my first modified 4X4 was a 1978 chev shortbox which I purchased new and then modified. Been 4X4ing  a few years. At my age I sure don't feel invincible LOL. My XJ is my daily driver, with the snorkel I don't worry about getting a hydrolocked engine if I encounter deep water, that said I don't go looking for deep water or drive like a moron on the trails either. Once again thanks for the replies and variety of opinions.
