Grease
« on: October 07, 2013, 09:55:33 AM »
Can anyone recommend a high quality grease with "moly" that's actually available in Calgary? Ive searched and posted on Jeep Forum, but those US guys have a lot of brands available to them that we in Canada do not. I can't seem to find a quality grease. Every one Ive tried seems to separate/liquify. Mainly I'm looking for a good quality grease for Johnny joints.

Stan stocks Moly grease for CTM's. Very high end, very sticky, very expensive grease.

I've found the higher end synthetics dont liguify. Quaker state, etc etc. I use the high temp stuff.

Luca Red and tacky liguifies Im not a fan anymore.

I don't know if this is the type of grease you are looking for, but I have been using Power Up on my jeep for over 10 years now and I have never had any failures on my greaseable components (http://poweruplube.com/thixogrease-2.  I buy it at Bowness Auto and it used to be about $15 / tube

Just about every brand of grease contains moly, I use castrol and it seems to do the job.

I don't know how you know that...almost every tube of grease I've picked up off the shelf had no mention anywhere on the tube about containing moly. I finally found a type that had moly included in the specs on the tube but most brands and types never mention moly. Are you just assuming that most grease contains moly???

Can you elaborate? Where and what brands are you buying that clearly state on the tube that the grease contains moly. Thanks.
