Anyone on forum every run the Rubicon Trail
« on: October 11, 2013, 10:34:09 PM »
I am planning on going to the jeepers Jamboree next summer. My XJ will have lockers, rock sliders and skid plates installed. I am running a RE 3.5" lift and 31" tires. Do you think I need to run 33" tires?
01 XJ, RE 3.5" lift, Smittybilt XRC front & rear bumper, X2O 8,000 lb winch, 33" MT/R's
, ARB snorkel, lockers and a bunch of other stuff

Iv never been but from what iv heard You can run most of it stock by taking the bypasses. I think 33s would be advisable if you want to run more of the obstacles

With your armor it sounds like you will be setup to run the rocks....but 33's will give you that crucial extra couple inches of clearance...and they'll look cooler too!  ;)

You driving or trailering down? I just got back from Moab and had a SICK time....the rubicon is next on the list!

I have picked up a set of rims and 33 inch tires. I am flat towing my XJ behind motorhome when we go.

I have seen the video, thanks for the links. Just gotta get the XJ done by spring, tires on, fenders trimmed, bumpstops installed, 4.10's and air lockers installed, skid plates on. What have I got myself into  :o
