XJ help please

Ok so i just bought a 94 cherokee sport its got 285000kms on it.
Ive been slowly looking things over and came across this problem...
The airbox is getting oil into it coming from the calve cover i believe it is.
Its the tube in the picture that im pointing at. Can anyone let me know whats going on and how i could go about fixing it.

It's caused from excessive blow-by.  The rings are worn and compression is blowing by into the crank case.  It vents through that tube and oil will start coming through there when there is too much pressure.  You can run the tube in to a vented container and pour it back in to the engine when it gets full.

Mine was doing the same thing. The line going into the valve cover close to the firewall by the yellow fuse box? Was plugged.( Some models it is the pcv). Cleaned it out , made sure air could flow through. All is better.
In theory filtered air is supposed to be sucked in from the air cleaner. And crank case fumes sucked into a port on the intake manifold.

Maciej this is very common and I have had this issue since I bought my current yj and had same thing with last yj. You tube oil catch can 4.0l jeep. I did it no issues. And it saves your air filter. Blow by just happens. Try cleaning the crap outta the pcv valve first though. Then worry about the catch can.

Once the PCV valve is cleaned run some Lucas oil works lie a champ!

Pcv. Positive crankcase ventilation is the doohickey on the top of your valve cover looks like a 90* elbow. Remove it carefully. As it will break.

I had the same thing and when I took my head off all the oil being sucked up over time hardened up on the intake valves. I lost 30% volume in each intake and the exhaust was just as bad. The engine had 155000km when I pulled it last year. Easiest thing to foo to help clean it without rebuliding the head is use seafoam.
