Toy Run - SHORT NOTICE
« on: November 29, 2013, 05:50:03 PM »
Ok, so there seems to be some interest in this and the guys on Jeep Junkies have suggested Dec 15th.  We don't have a lot of time to discuss so that is the date we will run with.

We need volunteers.
We need a staging  location.
We need to get the word out.
We need a group to donate to.

Post up and thoughts and who will be able to take part.

Ok possible redirection.  Need some input.

The CT4WD has begun planning a toy run for children in High River on Dec 14th.  Thoughts on joining in their efforts?  They have been a strong supporter of the toy runs in the past, so I think this might be a good option.

Sounds like a great idea.

Ok, this is the direction we are going to go.  As I get details I will post them up.

The CT4WD group is having a get together at Peters Drive-in on Dec 4th to kick it off...going to be a cold one though.

Ok so here is where it stands.

Dec 4th is the kick-off to the drive.  Meeting at Peters @7:30.  If you are able to bring any toys then, do so.

The only location with a drop bin right now is the Gear Shop.  I am going to see if they want some more setup.

The actual drive/convoy will be Dec 14th.  I don't have a time or location yet.

Broken Axle will take a drop box. Dan, PM me or Dave about using our parking lot for the meeting place if need be.

And this may be the first time someone said right on about a Toyota pic on a Jeep forum :D

One thing that isn't mentioned in the poster is to decorate your vehicle. Bells, lights, bows, wrapping paper, whatever goes with the spirit of the season! I'm trying to get a prize for best decorated vehicle.

Haha  :P I got love for the Yota's too....I will actually probably be there in the wifey's Tacoma as my Heep doesn't like city streets much anymore  ;)

Bump for reminder!

There will be prizes tomorrow for best decorated and most creatively decorated vehicle. If you're planning on being part of the convoy down to High River bring a radio. As far as I know most will be on FRS or VHF, though I suspect there may be a few CBs as well.

Also a reminder that if you're unable to make it tomorrow you can drop any toys or donations off at the Gear Shop at Bay 14, 1431 40th Avenue NE between 10:30am and 7:30pm today!

It was a good turnout considering it was all put together on pretty short notice. Thanks to everyone who came out!
