Saturday Feb 22nd Waiparous run and trail project
« on: February 20, 2014, 05:53:48 AM »
We've been asked to help out with a trail project that involves cutting some willow cuttings that will be used over the spring/summer to armour the creek banks around a bridge.   Figured we'd combine our monthly run with this trail project as I can't imagine it will take all day to get some cuttings and we might get some time to wheel in the afternoon.

This will be an open run so the requirements will be:
- decent tires with full sized spare
- front and rear tow points
- dress for the weather

For the project part we are being asked to come prepared with some work gloves, safety glasses and pruning shears if you have them.  We could also use a couple of toboggans or sleds to drag the cuttings back to the vehicles.

We are planning to be leaving the Smitty's parking lot in Cochrane at 8:30... so get there a bit earlier if you want breakfast.

Yes tomorrow... the 22nd.   Apparently a calendar challenges my technical skills

I know a few guys indicated at the meeting they'd be coming out too.  I, unfortunately, am on call for work so can't get out this weekend.  Hopefully the CJA is well represented and its a great day.

Well, I feel a bit like an idiot.......but after an hour in the garage, I cannot find my clippers/pruning stuff anywhere.  If anyone has any extras for tomorrow they could pack along, it would be greatly appreciated.

Good day out by Lost Knife.  The trail project was fun (and successful for this phase), and the short run we did afterwards was a lot of fun.  Great to see everyone in such good spirits out in the snow.

Vinman, shoot me a PM with your email address if you want me to send you a good quality picture of your Jeep.......uhm, testing the snow depth.  ;)

I also have a good one as well but I believe the Toyota took the best test in the snow ha
