a new jeep owner needing advice!
« on: March 22, 2014, 09:34:24 PM »
Hey guys so I just recently bought a 2004 jeep tj sport
with 6" lift (I think) and 35s. I jumped right into it before I searched up anything on jeeps and realizing now the work it still needs. I took it to an old tire shop I used to work at for an alignment and they come out saying its "in spec" idiots.. I have about 1 degree of caster on each side and the cam bolts are maxed out. I have yet to see many people with that issue? Stock is around 7 and lifted 5 or so degrees should do right? I got upper adjustable control arms ordered to hopefully adjust that correctly . Ive installed an adjustable track bar since it was stock (probably isnt adjusted properly) and put sway bar quick disconnects, new steering stabilizer and it drove a bit better but then go to notice the drag link tie rod on the pitman arm was completely gone, so I got all excited thinking once I replaced that it would be sorted.. so I replace it take for a test drive and have a serious case of death wobble at any speed over 65kph. So yes its parked.
to top it all off I did a carfax the day AFTER I bought it to see it had 16grand worth of repairs in 06, how that wouldnt of been a write off is beyond me
Im wondering if any dedicated jeep guy on here would take a quick look at it just incase theres anything im missing or additional stuff that should be there that isnt.. and also which reputable shops would be worth taking it to
im located in Evergreen SW calgary, endless supply of beer for any takers

Looking forward to hitting trails with you guys
Thanks
Braden

They do more than jeeps... But it seems like that's all that's ever there.
