Two switch Back Up SR lights
« on: April 11, 2014, 05:56:26 PM »
So I am looking to install the Rigid Industries SR-M Flush Mount Back Up Light Kit just as the same on this page.

http://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-write-ups-39/new-rigid-industries-sr-m-flush-mount-back-up-light-kit-289430/#b

The only thing is that I would like to use it as a back up light as well as a working light on another switch that could be used at any time. Just thinking that if I turn the lights on as a work light I might blow the back up wiring when the light should not be on?

If you can find the proper diode then that would be the simplest, diode acts as a one way gate, power can flow from the backup lights to kick the relay for the lights, the diode would prevent the  power from the manual switch from going back to the factory backup light circuit.

or

Wire up the circuit like normal using a switch to kick a relay to power the lights, then run a second circuit with a 2nd relay, use the back up light circuit to kick the 2nd relay/circuit.
