Painting Stock TJ Bumpers
« on: August 18, 2014, 04:17:50 PM »
I am thinking of sanding and painting my stock TJ bumpers. Has anyone painted theirs with a spray on truck bed liner? How does it look?

Most people throw them away, cut them down, or replace them with a plate or aftermarket bumper. Bedlining them is not very common. Yours would be unique.

i usually spray mine with that rubberized crap from Canadian tire then spray them with black tremclad. i'm lazy now and just spray em with tremclad.

don't think theres any point just bedlining the bumpers.

I just repainted my winch and bumper with high heat engine enamel.....seems to work OK. Bedliner tends to look splotchy as it wears a bit over time. The spray bomb types probably not anywhere as good as a pro job.

Well, I went ahead and painted them with spray on bed liner from Auto Value. They look great. I will see how they hold up over time but for the moment I am very happy with the way they turned out.
